potato mixture:
- 6 large sweet potatoes, peeled
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
topping mixture:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease casserole dish.
- Mix potatoes until smooth.
- Once smooth, add, sugar, milk, butter, vanilla, (salt to taste), and egg until desired consistency is reached.
- Pour mixture into casserole dish.
- Whisk brown sugar, flour, butter and pecans together.
- Spread mixture over potatoes.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
