Perfect Jasmine Rice

  • 2 3/4 cups of water, plus more, if necessary
  • 1 1/2 cups jasmine rice
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Stir in the rice; cover and reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes until all of the water is absorbed.
  4. Taste the rice; if it is still too firm, add a few more tablespoons of water.
  5. Cover the pan and let the rice absorb the water off of the heat.
